Following the announcement a few weeks back that Twin Forks, would be joining Canada’s City and Colour on their three outdoor shows announced for the end of this year, it was also murmured that some headline shows were to come too.  The wait is over, and we can now confirm that the highly anticipated new musical project from Chris Carrabba (of Dashboard Confessional fame), will be appearing at Oxford Art Factory in Sydney on Sunday 1st December and Newcastle’s Cambridge Hotel on Friday 6th December.

Chris Carrabba is best known by his legion of Australian and worldwide fans as the lead singer and guitarist for multi-platinum American band, Dashboard Confessional. His previous band, which toured successfully around the country a number of times in recent years, has since gone on indefinite hiatus, making room for Carrabba to follow his passion for rootsy and folk music with a brand new musical outfit, Twin Forks.

In recording his first collection of songs as Twin Forks, Carrabba harnessed the acoustic spirit of his work with his previous band and channelled it through the rootsy classic folks sounds of his childhood. He pulled together a couple of friends from other bands (Suzie Zeldin from The Narrative on mandolin, bassist Jonathan Clark from Bad Books) and old friend Ben Homola on drums and together they crafted a sound that balances their punk and alt-rock backgrounds with music of a more traditional flair. Their debut self titled EP is out now through Dine Alone records.

With recent shows at SxSW and Montreal’s Osheaga Festival, Twin Forks are already amassing a new legion of followers and are ready to give Australian music fans what they’ve been waiting for. “The goal is always to do our best to get it right in the same room with each other, looking at each other, laughing with each other,” Carrabba explains about the chemistry within the band. “I think you can feel that all over the songs”.

There is no doubt you’ll be able to feel it in their live show too. Don’t miss Twin Forks making their stage debut in Australia at their Sydney and Newcastle shows as well as on a select number of City and Colour outdoor concerts in November and December. Tickets for all City and Colour shows are on sale now and selling fast.
