ECCA VANDAL DROPS NEW SINGLE + VIDEO Announces Melbourne & Sydney Shows

unnamed

Ecca Vandal has already been labelled an enigma. It might be because of the lack of information available on her, it might have something to do with her musical pedigree. Or it might be that defiant strut into a tornado of influences that she was seen to make on debut single White Flagand the subsequent shitstorm of adoration that ensued.

Finally, after a tantalising wait, Ecca Vandal reveals another slice of the musical tapestry she’s spent months weaving in studios across her home town of Melbourne. Battle Royal is here.  It’s defiant, brattish punk rock, fronted by unrelenting percussion The Prodigy would be proud of, a vibrato to rival Gwen’s, and swagger in SPADES. All instruments on the track were recorded by Ecca and collaborator Kidnot. Battle Royal was co-produced and mixed by the combo in conjunction with Hadyn Buxton.

The accompanying video is next level. Directed by Andrew Stalph and Kidnot it follows Ecca as she transitions from one musical identity to another, getting increasingly vicious with each incarnation.

For all this fanfare, it’s staggering to remember that Ecca Vandal has performed live just once – though in that brief 20 minutes was aptly articulated by Channel [V] to be a “remarkable and fierce live presence”. For Melbourne and Sydney crowds wanting to witness Vandal in her element, the opportunity has finally arrived.

The wait is over. Ecca Vandal has announced Melbourne and Sydney performances this March. Be one of the first to witness Ecca Vandal live.
