Interview – Blonde Summer

Who are you and what are you doing here? (what is your name, what is the band and what is your role in the band?)

Hey what’s up. I’m Chris and I like to sing, play guitar, and write some songs in Blonde Summer.

How did the band start?

I just started a band where I could write and play my own songs. I set off by just knowing what I wanted to feel like in the songs. Then I just knew naturally anything that I wrote would fit, because it just makes sense that way. I could tell stories of things that I think are cool, and really not care if anyone gets them, cause they mean something to me.

How would you describe your band?

Maybe like the jocks in the movie Nerds after a long year of hooking up with cheerleaders and all night keggers, then not that at all but oh! Like Lamar throwing the javelin at the frat competition. Exactly like that.

If you had to choose one song you’ve written that best defines your band which one would it be?

High Times and Slow Days. Two songs right?

In this day and age where anyone is pretty much able to pick up an instrument, what would you say sets your band apart from the rest?

Stories.

Where are people able to hear your songs?

iTunes Spotify online places. If you ever eat at chipotle or if your an avid commercial watcher then tv too. I binged watched a season of ABC commercials recently so I’m pretty caught up on what’s current.

Are you playing any shows anytime soon (if you live outside of Australia, do you have any plans for a trip down under)?

I would love to come and play some shows in Australia. So if anyone reads this and knows an Australian booking agent then hook it up!!!! I’ll be there in a quick sec and sing you a song under under the shade of a coolibah tree

What is your proudest moment/greatest achievement as a band?

Probably if we get signed and making tons of $$$$ touring and stuff like that. Oh and getting to know celebrities with expensive cars getting car washes whenever.

Tell us 3 bands that we should be listening to/be keeping an eye out for?

Three songs you should listen to?

Turn it on – Flaming Lips

I Turn on – Slam Donahue

Turn on me – The Shins

Anything Else you’d like to add?

The next group of songs is going to be pretty rad! I know this cause they’re done and soon will reach ears.
