Who are you and what are you doing here? (what is your name, what is the band and what is your role in the band?)
I am Jordan, and I play drums in the band NGHBRS.
How did the band start?
Tommy and I have been playing in bands together for years. We knew Ian from playing local shows together and have always kept in touch. Our previous bands broke up around the same time and we decided to get in a room and see what happens. We brought in Eric shortly after and it clicked immediately.
How would you describe your band?
Raw, passionate, energetic, and diverse rock and roll.
If you had to choose one song you’ve written that best defines your band which one would it be?
I would have to say the title track off of our new album, Twenty One Rooms. It has so many different elements, and I think it shows how much we’ve grown as a band over these past few years.
In this day and age where anyone is pretty much able to pick up an instrument, what would you say sets your band apart from the rest?
We’re very keen on sounding how we sound. Our album was recorded live with minimal editing, and plenty of mistakes. We’re not interested in sounding perfect, and our live show demonstrates this even more.
Where are people able to hear your songs?
Are you playing any shows anytime soon (if you live outside of Australia, do you have any plans for a trip down under)?
We will be doing a hometown CD Release show here in Long Island on July 19th, and working on tour plans for late summer/fall. We have every intention of making it down under one day!
What is your proudest moment/greatest achievement as a band?
Listening back to our new finished record, and feeling 100% proud.
Tell us 3 bands that we should be listening to/be keeping an eye out for?
Long Island has some great bands coming out now…
Heavy English, Gabriel the Marine, The Walking Tree, Allies
Anything Else you’d like to add?
“Twenty One Rooms” will be available everywhere on July 16th
