Interview – PLTS + Song Stream

Stream PLTS’ new single ‘On & On’ below.

Who are you and what are you doing here? (what is your name, what is the band and what is your role in the band?)

My name is Byron and I play guitar in the band PLTS.

How did the band start?

The band started up when two friends found a mutual love for The Smashing Pumpkins and bonded over their live performance at Splendour In The Grass. Recruitment of two other friends followed and PLTS was born.
How would you describe your band?

One emotional Kiwi with three other punks, having a good ‘ol time playing and writing music together.

If you had to choose one song you’ve written that best defines your band which one would it be?

Our latest single “On & On”. I think it really showcases our influences both lyrically and musically, our sound has changed a fair bit over the last year or so and I think this track has really solidified our direction and who we are as a band.

In this day and age where anyone is pretty much able to pick up an instrument, what would you say sets your band apart from the rest?

I think experience is a key factor. It’s rare you’ll watch a band of younger kids playing, in their first band, and be impressed by them as a group. Being able to play and perform well with other people takes time. Also, three out of the four of us have all played together in other projects and I think that bond really shines through with PLTS and in our live set.
Where are people able to hear your songs?

Via our website – pltsmusic.com
Our new single is also up on iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp & Soundcloud.

Are you playing any shows anytime soon (if you live outside of Australia, do you have any plans for a trip down under)?

What is your proudest moment/greatest achievement as a band?

Honestly I think our proudest and greatest achievement so far would be the whole process of creating our new single. We got to work with JP Fung, which was such a great experience. From start to finish we all worked so hard, so to have the finished product out there feels really cool!

Tell us 3 bands that we should be listening to/be keeping an eye out for?

Brisbane band BUGS are doing some really cool things, they will be jumping on a couple of shows with us on this upcoming tour which we are so stoked about. Melbourne’s POSTBLUE have just dropped a killer track and our hometown pals WAXHEAD are definitely a band to keep an eye out for!

Anything Else you’d like to add?

Thanks for the chat! Hope to see you at some shows, cheers guys!
