Who are you and what are you doing here?
My name Is Jerome Amandi and I’m French.
I created the Talisco project three years ago and I’ve composed all the music myself.
AND… I would like to have a hug with a kangaroo!
When did you know you wanted to pursue music as a career?
When I was 11, I had my first guitar and I started to compose my first songs at 13. I quickly surrounded myself with machines and other instruments, I like tinkering sounds. From there Talisco was simply a logical continuation. I named myself Talisco, which was my way to pay tribute to someone who mattered to me.
How would you describe your music?
Hmm.. It’s not easy to describe or sell your own music to another person, when I was a little child my Spanish grandmother sang a lot, which was my first inspiration, I think my music is rock, raw and direct.
If you had to choose one song you’ve written that best defines your sound, which one would it be?
The best song to describe my sound is « Your Wish » It’s a very positive sound, raw emotions and it’s about fantasies and dreams.
In this day and age where anyone is pretty much able to pick up an instrument, what would you say sets you apart from the rest?
In this day and age, it’s magic. If you have an idea, you can record it rapidly and easily.
but the most important, it’s to record a song with a personal and authentic emotion.
Where are people able to hear your songs?
You can hear my first single Your Wish online and my album will be available later in the year !
Are you playing any shows anytime soon?
Yeah, I play and I travel a lot in Europe for concerts and Festival this summer.
I love to be on stage with my friends and musiciens “Thomas” and “Gautier”.
It’s always a good moment to share my music people. I’m hoping to get to Australia very soon !
What is your proudest moment/greatest achievement as a musician?
One of my favorite moment was the concert at the “cigale” a famous place in Paris.
It was in june, last summer, 3 days before my birthday.
It was full and the atmosphere was crazy!
Tell us 3 bands that we should be listening to/be keeping an eye out for?
-“sixteen horses power” so powerfull, émotional and mystic.
– Beck is one of the most important artists for me. He is a multi-instrumentalist, very creative and free
-Danger Mouse, because the color of his sound is very interesting to me. His polyvalent and multifaceted.
-Damon Albarn would also be someone great to work with
Anything else you’d like to add?
I’m a big curious. Music are everywhere, in a bar, a restaurant, a shop.. my ears are always attentives. I can’t wait to discover culture and people in Australia.
See you soon
