Interview – Typefighter

How did the band start?

Typefighter started in 2009 as a folk band and gradually the lineup changed and the sound started to evolve. With our current roster, we reinvented itself into much more of a rock band when we started to write our new record The End of Everything (out April 22nd on Huge Witch Records).

How would you describe your band?

We call ourselves Garage-Pop.

If you had to choose one song you’ve written to best describe your band which one would it be?

‘You When You’re Older’ on the new record is a good example of how we approach writing. Like a lot of our songs, it started its life as a folk song, but we try to take them and twist and mangle them into something much different, while still keeping the original melodic sensibility of the song.

Where are people able to hear your songs?

You can hear our songs and see videos and a lot more at WWW.TYPEFIGHTERMUSIC.COM

Are you playing any shows anytime soon?

Yes! We will be playing as much as possible in support of The End of Everything! But only in the States for now. All show info is on our website. If you guys wanna bring us to Australia, we’re in!

What is your proudest moment/greatest achievement as a band?

Well, finally releasing The End of Everything (our first LP!) so we can talk with you fine people, of course!

If you could have a dream tour with 3 other bands/musicians who would they be?

We’d have to keep it DC strong since it is such a great musical place to be lately. Some of our favorites are:

All of them would be great tour mates, I’m sure!

Anything else you’d like to add?

Thanks so much for having us! We hope you all check out The End of Everything on April 22nd! See you soon, we hope!
