Who are you and what are you doing here? (what is your name, what is the band and what is your role in the band?)
Im Connor Mairs from Whitefall. We’re a progressive metalcore band from Canberra Australia and i am the vocalist of the band.
How did the band start?
The band started back in 2013 when myself and Scotty our drummer (Guitarist at the time) got together for a jam. My uncle was in a band with his dad and sister and they linked us up.
How would you describe your band?
As people i would describe us as a bunch of guys looking to make our name on the music scene.
Musically i would describe us as fairly heavy with diverse riffs and progressive flare.
If you had to choose one song you’ve written that best defines your band which one would it be?
Causality is probably the song that defines us the best. It was the first song that scotty and I wrote that we really enjoyed playing and listening to. The addition of Dan Tompkins of TesseracT just made it so much better knowing that we worked with one of the industries best so early into our hopeful careers.
In this day and age where anyone is pretty much able to pick up an instrument, what would you say sets your band apart from the rest?
It’s true that anyone can pretty much pick up an instrument these days but the passion and drive to make that into something is what sets us apart. From these people. We know we have what it takes to make some great music and we have the commitment to make that happen.
Where are people able to hear your songs?
At the moment you can hear 2 of our tracks (Causality and Dreamweaver) on youtube, bandcamp and triple J unearthed.
Causality is also available on itunes.
However when the full EP is released youll be able to get all our tracks on most major online outlets like itunes and spotify.
Are you playing any shows anytime soon (if you live outside of Australia, do you have any plans for a trip down under)?
Our next show is February 24th which is our first headline gig!
We’re playing alongside ‘Roses for Raychael’ and our mates from ‘Rumours’. Its sure to be a wild night!
What is your proudest moment/greatest achievement as a band?
Our proudest moment as a band so far is probably the completion of our EP. A lot of work and time went into getting that EP written and ready and having it all done and done to such a high standard by our Producer Dax Liniere is something that’ll only be topped when we release it.
Tell us 3 bands that we should be listening to/be keeping an eye out for?
Polaris is definitely one to watch. We played our first gig supporting them and they have awesome music and a stage presence better than some of the biggest bands around.
Majora is another one. They are growing fast and their music is unreal.
Rumours as well. THey just dropped their EP which is really good and they have a lot of passion for the music.
