Hard working, honest bands are hard to come by these days, but as you will read in the following interview with Get Scared they have poured all of themselves into this band to make this a full time career whilst maintaining to have fun along the way. Read On won’t you…
Who are you and what are you doing here? (What is your name, what is the band and what is your role in the band?)
Johnny Braddock, Get Scared, I play guitar
How did the band start?
Everyone in the band has grown up together and have been playing in different bands together for years, the select few of us that are now in Get Scared all had the same ideas, mindset, goals and hunger for writing music, we got together to start this project, quit all our jobs, recording all our own demos at home became a full time thing. Though we all work extremely hard its safe to say that this band was the most natural and easy thing to start compared to all the other bands we were in prior
How would you describe your band?
Musically it’s Heavy, catchy, theatrical and emotional
We strive to be like that bands that we loved when we were growing up that helped us through hard times
If you had to choose one song you’ve written that best defines your band which one would it be?
In this day and age where anyone is pretty much able to pick up an instrument, what would you say sets your band apart from the rest?
We’ve all been playing music and have been surrounded by music since we were children, it is our lifeline! We’ve been through hell and back a few times and stuck together to continue doing what we love. You don’t need to be the best guitar player in the world to be successful or to stand out. Honesty and passion stand out a lot and I’m proud to say we have plenty of both those things
Where are people able to hear your songs?
Are you playing any shows anytime soon (if you live outside of Australia, do you have any plans for a trip down under)?
We just finished a tour with our friends in Dead Rabbitts and Rob The Cartel, more U.S tours are in the works right now,
No Australia tours yet but we definitely have Australia in mind for when we are ready to go overseas 🙂
What is your proudest moment/greatest achievement as a band?
Getting signed, breaking out of Utah and being able to say that our band is our full time career
Tell us 3 bands that we should be listening to/be keeping an eye out for?
Dead Rabbitts, Rob The Cartel, Awaken The Empire
Anything Else you’d like to add?
To all the people that have supported us, thank you and we love you!!! Now that we recently released our new EP “Built For Blame Laced With Shame” we will be doing a lot more touring so keep an eye out!
