Introducing – Lowell

Who are you and what are you doing here?
I am Lowell. I’m an artist.
how did your music career start?
Its hard to say when one’s career starts. I sat down at a piano when I was 3 and started learning songs by ear and so I’ve been preparing for it for a long time. My music career started when I made the decision that it was what I was going to do, and failure was not an option.
How would you describe your music?
Quirky and deliberate. Subtle but in your face. Poppy but alternative. Careful but free. Juxtapop.
If you had to choose one song you’ve written that best defines tour sound which on would it be?
I hope I don’t have a sound. Once I write a song that sounds like one thing, I feel no need to write it over.
In this day and age where anyone is pretty much able to pick up an instrument, what would you say sets your band apart from the rest?
My songwriting is what makes me most unique.
Where are people able to hear your songs?
You can buy my new EP “I killed Sara V.” on Itunes. I make videos so you can listen to some songs free on YouTube. You can also stream free on Soundcloud, Rdio, and Spotify etc.
Are you playing any shows anytime soon?
My shows at the moment are limited. I will be performing at “Field Trip”, the Arts & Crafts festival in Toronto along with Broken Social Scene and the Constantines among others.
