Who are you and what are you doing here? (what is your name, what is the band and what is your role in the band?)

The Lonely Biscuits. Sam Gidley (drums) Grady Wenrich (guitar, vox) John Paterini (guitar, vox) Nick Byrd (bass).

How did the band start?

Grady and I were random roommates at Belmont University. We started jamming before school started and formed the band. Shortly after, John (who lived across the hall) heard us jamming and we asked him to join the band. A few months later Nick joined.

How would you describe your band?

We have a “feel-good” vibe. There are funk/soul/hip-hop influences.

If you had to choose one song you’ve written that best defines your band which one would it be?

Butter. This was the first song we really wrote as a band and we kind of shape all of our other songs around this one as our base.

In this day and age where anyone is pretty much able to pick up an instrument, what would you say sets your band apart from the rest?

We have a unique type of music that not a lot of other bands are putting out. All of us have different influences so it creates a unique mixture of genres.

Where are people able to hear your songs?

They can hear our music on iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, and some of it on Bandcamp.

Are you playing any shows anytime soon (if you live outside of Australia, do you have any plans for a trip down under)?

Right now we are playing a lot of college shows, and shows in the United States. We would love to make a trip down under one of these days (not in the budget right now!)

What is your proudest moment/greatest achievement as a band?

Winning the “College Artist of the Year” woodie award from mtvU was definitely one of our coolest achievements. We worked really hard to get there and it definitely paid off.

Tell us 3 bands that we should be listening to/be keeping an eye out for?

Nashville has a ton of awesome underground music right now. Lately we have been listening to: The Weeks, JEFF The Brotherhood, and Rayland Baxter.

Anything else you’d like to add?

Stay gravy
