This word is a weird and wonderfully and some time mysterious place. So who better to talk to us about these weird things than William Shatner. Each episode contains three separate stories of the bizarre and unexplained. As the show unfolds, it attempts to find logical and scientific answers or reasoning to back up the story. The show features strange occurrences such as ghosts, monsters, medical oddities and natural disasters
If I am to be honest this show is completely different to what I thought it was going to be. After receiving the Series from Shock Entertainment I thought I would be sitting down to the humorously misunderstood* William Shatner talking about the weird things that are in and happening around the world. But when I started seeing stories on random feet floating on to beaches and the behind the scenes CSI kind of research they went into, I realised that I was in for more than I bargained for.
*By humorously misunderstood I mean on my behalf. I don’t know if Shatner is giving of a really dry sense of humor or if he is just a strange man.
With all that being said his narration and deep voice makes what is already an already intriguing serious even more so. Shatner displays not only a dry sense of humor but a sincere interest in the topics through out the series.
From evidence of cocaine in mummies – a substance not found in Egypt until thousands of years later in episode 3 to where a boy loses his thumb and it grows back thanks to a mysterious powder in episode 10, ‘Weird or What’ is not only a humorous and intriguing watch, it also informative and give you more useless knowledge you can tell your friends.
This was a great series and I’m looking forward to the second one.
