FIRST SINGLE “HEART AND SOUL” AVAILABLE VIA ITUNESFRIDAY JULY 25
Almost three years since the release of their debut album Free, which catapulted this Glaswegian four-piece from the clubs to playing sold-out shows for thousands of rabid fans around the world, TWIN ATLANTIC have announced their second album Great Divide will be released in Australia onAugust 15, 2014 via Red Bull Records.
The anticipation behind the release of Great Divide has been climbing across the globe with their highly publicised set at this year’s Glastonbury festival, stadium dates supporting Kings Of Leon and 30 Seconds To Mars, plays on Triple M nationally, a BBC Radio 1 “Hottest Record In The World” under their belt, and forthcoming slots on Reading and Leeds Festivals.
That much of Great Divide was written late at night, afterTWIN ATLANTIC had stepped off yet another festival stage somewhere in the world is evident from first listen. Addictive, arms-aloft anthems with instantly catchy choruses, Great Divide is a rock record with widescreen ambition, inspired by both the band watching their own fans and from sharing stages with the likes of Springsteen and Foo Fighters.
“Our aim was always to make songs this size,” says singer Sam McTrusty of their stadium-rock sound, “90% of it was written in the back of the tour bus, or a sweltering van in America. Our adrenaline was through the roof because, for the first time, thousands of people had come to see us.
“You can’t hear 10,000 people singing a chorus back at you and not be changed by it.”
Great Divide was recorded in Rockfield, Wales with esteemed producer Gil Norton (Foo Fighters, Pixies), and in the US with the legendary Jacknife Lee (U2, R.E.M., One Direction).
The first single from Great Divide is the stadium-filling “Heart And Soul”, also their Glastonbury 2014 set opener, which will be available on iTunes next Friday July 25th.
